On October 11th and 12th, 2012, the Human Resources Department and the Manufacturing Planning Department took the lead in organizing the ACE (ACHIEVING COMPETITIVE EXCELLENCE) training based on the value chain delivery. This training was specially invited by Mr. Gu Xiaodong, senior manager of UTC Asia, and the managers of Technology Center, Process Quality Department, Business Development Department, Manufacturing Planning Department, Purchasing Department, Component Workshop, Assembly Workshop, and Water System Expansion Business Department all attended this training.
In this training, the first stage comprehensively talks about ACE's management concepts, focusing on VSPM (Value Stream Management) management concepts and the management tools involved through the learning participants can utilize SIPOC concepts, work token management, the eight wastes, lean principles and other theories and tools to draw business process maps. The second stage uses VSPM management concepts and tools to draw IG541 business process maps by collecting data on raw materials, finishing, semi-finished products and finished products, analyzing logistics, information flow and delivery time ladder, reflecting the wasteful nodes in the production process, and finding work methods for cost reduction, quality improvement and delivery rate.
The trainees had high expectations for this training, with active group debates and very high participation, and were also very satisfied with the organization, method and knowledge of the training.
The training provided the company with advanced management concepts and management tools, and helped to deepen the concept of 'Making Change Happen'. The purpose of the training is to better master and apply them in the workplace, therefore, the company hopes that through this learning, we can really change the concepts, improve the current management situation, and enhance the company's performance.
