The subway is an important main line of urban transportation, with substations, communication equipment rooms, signal equipment rooms, and environmental control and electronic control rooms being important areas of subway stations. Not only are the equipment installed expensive, but if a fire accident occurs, it will affect the safe operation of the entire subway. Therefore, the first phase of the West Extension of Changsha Metro Line 2 project includes substations, communication equipment rooms, signal equipment rooms The IG541 gas fire extinguishing system is installed in important electrical rooms such as the environmental control and electrical control room. According to the contract requirements of the 'Gas Fire Extinguishing System Equipment Procurement and Installation Project of Changsha Metro Line 2 West Extension Phase I Project', a full-scale 1:1 physical fire test will be conducted on the largest protected area of the entire line. This experiment selected the substation and distribution room of Meixihu East Station of Changsha Metro Line 2 West Extension Phase I Project to conduct prototype control and fire extinguishing performance testing on a complete set of fire extinguishing systems in a single protective zone. The test was conducted by Nanjing Fire Equipment Co., Ltd., the winning bidder of the 'Gas Fire Extinguishing System Equipment Procurement and Installation Project of Changsha Metro Line 2 West Extension Phase I Project', which provided a gas fire extinguishing room for testing Firefighting equipment and materials used for testing; Our company organizes and issues relevant testing reports from the National Fixed Fire Extinguishing System and Fire Resisting Component Quality Supervision and Inspection Center.
The gas fire extinguishing room provided by Nanxiao Group for testing is currently the largest protected area among the physical fire extinguishing test rooms in China, with a size of 18X8X5.9 meters. The test room is built in the large space test site of the Fire Test Center of Nanxiao Group, using a brick concrete structure that is completely built according to the size and structure of the protected area in the subway project. Its fire prevention and pressure resistance requirements can fully meet the requirements of the open fire test of the project.
The fire extinguishing test was conducted on the morning of May 7, 2015, with the joint participation and witness of the owner, design, consulting, supervision, and testing center. The fire extinguishing test was monitored and recorded in real-time according to the test outline.
The experiment was conducted according to two plans.
Option 1: Verified whether a fire under the floor can trigger a detector alarm, and recorded data. The experimental results indicate that setting detectors under the floor can also ensure that the alarm control system can alarm and interlock normally.
Option 2: Conduct a total flooding fire extinguishing system test on the protected area. A total of 10 ignition points were set in the test, and ignition oil tanks were installed in the upper four corners of the protected area and the lower four corners of the protected area. An ignition oil pan was set below the floor, and an ignition oil pan was set above the floor. The system control mode is fully automatic control, which is automatically controlled and linked by the alarm control system after ignition. One minute after ignition, the fire extinguishing system starts, and within a short period of 50 seconds, the fire extinguishing system completely extinguishes 10 ignition points.
The smooth progress of test plans 1 and 2 has been unanimously recognized by all parties. Experts say that the design is reasonable, the fire extinguishing test plan is complete, the test implementation is feasible, and the fire extinguishing effect is perfect. This IG541 gas fire extinguishing physical test has played a very good guiding role in the fire extinguishing application of domestic gas fire extinguishing systems in subway and other fire engineering projects.
